FRYERS 25c Linda Smith Given Linen Shower Miss Linda Smith, who will marry Grady R. Creech on Sunday, October 13, was complimented with a linen shower on Saturday night, October 5. Hostesses were Mrs. Lawrence Creech and Mrs. Bobby Pace. The social was held in the home of Mrs. Creech. A yellow and white color scheme was used in decorations and re freshments. The honoree was pre sented a white camrtion corsage and a gift of linen placemats and napkins by the hostesses. The bride-elect’s mother and; the bridegroom-elect’s mother were present for the affair. Tuckers Entertain Dr. and Mrs. George Tucker were hosts to the Saturday Night Couples Bridge Club last week. Rose arrangements were used for decoration. Playing were Mr. and Mrs. Ferd Davis, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Beck, Mr. and Mrs. Armstrong Cannady, Mr. and Mrs. Dougles Finch and Mr. and Mrs. Bernice Bunn. Guests were Mr. and Mrs. Bill Britt of Wendell. High score was won by Mr. and Mrs. Bunn, with low going to Mr. and Mrs. Cannady. Mr. and Mrs. Britt were remembered with a gift. Tables were laid after three pro gressions and the hosts served country ham biscuits, coconut chiffon pie and coffee. Nibbles and punch were served during play. Wakelon Menu MONDAY: Barbecued pork in bun, cabbage-green pepper and on ion salad, buttered potatoes, ap ple pie, milk. TUESDAY: Meat loaf, gravy, but tered rice, steamed cabbage, beet pickle, grapes, com bread, but ter, milk. WEDNESDAY:. Turkey pie, broc coli, buttered com, pineapple pudding, hot rolls, butter, milk. THURSDAY: Vienna sausage, turnip greens, held peas, onion rings, orange juice, cookies, com bread, milk. FRIDAY: Vegetable soup, lunch eon meat-lettuce sandwich, ice cream, crackers, milk. Mrs. Liles Hostess Members of the Bid-M Bridge Club were feted last week by Mrs. Jack Liles. Fall flowers in exquisite arrangements were used for decoration. Playing were Mrs. Bobby Sher ron, Mrs. Alvin Beck, Mrs. James Alford, Mrs. M. L. Hagwood, Mrs. Crafton Hudson, Mrs. Bobby Ross Eddins, Mrs. Jimmy Wheeler and Mrs. James Debnam. Prizes were awarded to Mrs. Hagwood, high; and Mrs. Wheeler, low. After three progressions the hostess laid the tables and served a refreshment course consisting of ham and cheese sandwiches, fresh homemade coconut cake, cheese straws, and coffee. Dur ing play Cokes, nuts and mints were passed.
